The Meaning of Life

The meaning of existence is to pass on to something far greater

than our own immediate selves.”

~  Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

The Reason for Living

The reason for living is self-actualization for the purpose of serving others

The entire reason for living—the ultimate meaning of life—is to make the absolute most of your talents and opportunities, and to do it in service to some community that is greater than yourself.  The meaning of life is to maximize your talents and opportunities, in order to maximize your influence in this world.

~

Make the most of your talents, opportunities, and potential impact on this world. Do all you can to become everything you are capable of becoming. Strive to live your best life, and endeavor to help others live their best lives as well.

————————————

Do your best to be your best.

Do your best to give your best to others.

——————————————————

The meaning of existence is to do everything you can to maximize your life, while helping others to maximize their lives as well; it is to do all that you can to work toward and reach your full potential, while assisting others as they continually work toward reaching their own full potential as well.

—————————————-

Make the most of yourself, so that you can do the most for others.

Maximize Your Ability ~ The Parable of the Talents

(A Passage from the Christian tradition: the Gospel of Matthew 25:14-30)

“Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them.  To one he gave five talents of money, [A talent is a coin—a monetary amount] to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability.  Then he went on his journey.  The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more.  So also, the one with the two talents gained two more.  But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money.

“After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.  The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!’

“The man with the two talents also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.’

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!’

“Then the man who had received the one talent came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’

“His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant!  So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?  Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

“‘Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents.  For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance.  Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.  And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’”

The Main Message

Make the most of your talents and abilities.

If you are capable of greatness, then don’t settle for anything less.

2.                   ~  Make the Most of Your Opportunities  ~

There is nothing in this world more precious than life itself.  Make the most of your opportunity to be alive; make the most of your opportunity to live each day to the fullest; make the most of your opportunity to live excellently and to do all you can to reach your absolute full potential.

Make the most of your opportunities for growth, experience, and impact. Realize what you have been blessed with, be thankful for and appreciative of all that you have, and strive to do the best and most with everything that you have been given.

Be Grateful For Everything You Have;

Make the Most of Everything You Have Been Given

Nothing in life is promised, and nothing in this world is guaranteed.  Be grateful for everything you have, and make the most of everything that you have been given.  Life is short.  Be grateful for the one life you have, and make the most of the one chance that you have to live it.

~

“Nothing in life is promised.

When you have something special, you have to take full advantage of it.”

~  Ray Lewis

Make the Most of Where You Are Right Now

Wherever you are, and whatever you are doing, you have to make the most of your present situation.  Life has brought you to a specific set of circumstances for a reason … It may be a great situation or it may be a difficult one; it may be a great place or it may be a less-than-stellar one; but regardless, you have to do everything you can to get the most out of your time while you’re there.

If you are meant to contribute something, then invest yourself fully and give everything you have to give.  If you are meant to learn something or to develop yourself in some way, then try to grow as much as you can from the experience.  Learn from it, so that you not only won’t have to go through it again in the future, but that it will also prepare you for bigger and better things down the road.

Don’t get caught up in “what if’s” and hypotheticals. Don’t start wishing you were someplace else or in some other situation. That’s all fantasy, and none of us lives in fantasy; we live in reality.

We’ve all heard the saying, “the grass is always greener on the other side.”  Well, sometimes it is, and sometimes it isn’t. The point is not to worry about someone else’s grass, but to focus on your own grass.  Keep your eyes on your own backyard … If you need to cut your grass, then cut it. If you need to water your grass, then water it.  Don’t mess up what’s in front of you right now because you’re preoccupied with something that you can’t control.  Stay focused on the here and now.

You never fully can understand why life has brought you to a particular set of circumstances until you are beyond those circumstances. It’s not until you are able to look back and see everything in hindsight that you are able to make sense of it all.  It does no good to try and figure all that out right now, while you’re still going through it.  Just trust that everything happens for a reason, and believe that every situation in your life is an opportunity to improve yourself.

Nothing will ever be ‘perfect,’ and nothing will ever be just as you want it to be. So don’t wait for the future to take advantage of opportunities: live in the present moment. Make the most of where you are right here and right now.

Make the Best of Life  &  Make the Most of Life

Make the best of every single moment of your life, and live each moment to the fullest.  Life is so very special, and every breath we take is precious and deserves to be utilized to its absolute maximum capacity.

Pour your heart and soul into everything you do. Give life your all at all times. If you do, you will not regret a single minute of your time spent in this world.  I cannot guarantee you that you will excel; I cannot guarantee you that you will succeed.  But, if you give yourself totally to each moment and to every opportunity that comes your way in life, I can guarantee you that you will have absolutely no regrets to speak of.

Make the Most of Your Life, by Living With Passion & Purpose

Make the most of everything the world has to offer, and give the world everything that you have to offer it. You only get so many hours in a day to enjoy yourself and to make a difference in other people’s lives; make sure you use as much of both those opportunities as you can.

In order to make the most of your life, you have to realize that you have only a short amount of time in this world, and that you have to do all you can to make the absolute most of it.

3.        ~ Make the Most of Your Impact On This World  ~

The Purpose of Living

The purpose of living is to do all that you can to reach your full potential in every regard, and to find a way to do it in service to some community that is larger than yourself.  It is to do the absolute very best that you can do—at all times—to help enhance the world in which you live and the lives of those around you.

We are each called to a specific role and a specific purpose in this world, and in order for us to fulfill that purpose, we must make the absolute most of every ounce of talent and every single opportunity that we are given. What is equally as important is that we help others to make the absolute most of their talents and opportunities as well, so that they may be able to reach their full potential also.

Essentially, each of us must continuously work toward becoming who we are fully-capable of being, so that we may do all that we are capable of doing:

for ourselves, for others, and for the world in which we live.

Live With A Purpose

You have to live life with a purpose.

It is important to understand that you are only in this world

for a short amount of time, and during that time you are given

a specific and wonderful task—a great purpose.

In whatever length of time you receive in this world,

you are expected to carry out your task

to its fullest extent and to the best of your ability.

~

You are not here entirely for yourself;

you are not here just to go through the motions in life;

and you are not here simply to have fun and nothing more.

You are in this world for a very specific and powerful purpose,

and that purpose is one that goes far beyond yourself.
